چکیده

In order to avoid the instability of composite materials laminated tube connection between layer and layer, with green basalt fiber as raw material, through reasonable design, special-shaped 3D (three-dimensional) tubular woven fabrics two different thicknesses shapes were fabricated on a semi-automatic sample loom low cost. The composites by VARTM (vacuum assisted resin transfer molding) process. Load-displacement scatter plots fitting curves energy-displacement obtained lateral compression tests. results showed that same shape, the load energy absorption values increased thickness property was better. For thickness, circular larger than square tube. correlation coefficients load-displacement polynomial formulas calculated least method in Origin 8.5 software all close 1, indicated effect good. This provided direction for research composites.

3d Woven Composites for Energy Absorbing Applications

Due to the presence of through-thickness reinforcement, 3D woven composites have superior fracture toughness, fatigue life, and damage tolerance compared to laminated composites. Furthermore, 3D woven composites exhibit a progressive damage behavior which is more benign than the typical catastrophic failure behavior of laminated composites. These properties lead to high specific energy absorpti...

Thermomechanical Properties of Woven Fabric Composites

The in-plane thermo-elastic behaviour of woven fabric reinforced composites is analysed using a combination of published micromechanics and finite element techniques. The repetitive unit of an arbitrary woven fabric composite is divided into elements of which the thermo-elastic properties are determined using micromechanics. The properties of the repetitive unit are obtained using the finite el...

Recent advancements in mechanical characterisation of 3D woven composites

Three dimensional (3D) woven composites have attracted the interest of academia and industry thanks to their damage tolerance characteristics and automated fabric manufacturing. Although much research has been conducted to investigate their out-of-plane “through thickness” properties, still their in-plane properties are not fully understood and rely on extensive experimentation. To date, the li...

Tensile properties and damage evolution in vascular 3D woven glass/epoxy composites

Vascularization enables multifunctional composites capable of self-healing, thermal regulation, electrical and magnetic modulation, and damage sensing. In this study, the effect of vascular channels on the in-plane tensile properties and damage progression of three-dimensional orthogonally woven textile composites is examined. Vascular channels are manufactured by Vaporization of Sacrificial Co...

Mechanical properties of woven glass fiber-reinforced composites.

The aim of this investigation was to measure the flexural and compressive strengths and the corresponding moduli of cylindrical composite specimens reinforced with woven glass fiber. Test specimens were made by light-curing urethane dimethacrylate oligomer with woven glass fiber of 0.18-mm standard thickness. Tests were conducted using four reinforcement methods and two specimen diameters. Flex...
